AUSTIN HEALEY 100/6 BN6 - £Auction
It is very hard to prove whether a car is a genuine 100/6S as no records were kept by the factory of which cars were converted and unless there is definitive proof in the history file, it is hard to be sure. However, 947 ECV is fitted with Dunlop round pad calipers on all four wheels. It is unusual for these brakes to be fitted retrospectively. Whilst it cannot be proven at this stage that is car is a 100/6S, the fact that it has four wheel disc brakes and it is a BN6, two-seater, it is good enough evidence to suggest this is one of the 100/6S'.
This particular car was built and dispatched in 1958 and has a good history file documenting the car's history. In 2020, the car was found to have a bent front chassis, a common issue with Austin Healey's, this was replaced and other structural repairs undertaken, the engine bay was repainted, a bespoke tonneau cover and hood was trimmed as well as other upgrades which totalled over £30,000 of work.
We are informed the car is now driving just as it should. On the road the car is fun, it has lively performance and stops well, it is not perfect and does have some signs of cosmetic wear and tear but offers excellent fun and an interesting history which could be traced further if desired.
