Founded in Casalecchio di Reno near Bologna, Berneg debuted its first motorcycle at the Milan Trade Fair in 1955 That model, the Rainbow, was powered by a 158cc twin-cylinder, overhead-cam engine designed by FB Mondial engineer Alfonso Drusiani Advanced all-aluminium engine design with integral 4-speed gearbox (cast-iron cylinder block) Later models, such as the Fario, featured a 173cc evolution of the same unit By 1959, only the Fario Gran Turismo and Sport remained in production Berneg ceased trading in 1962, having always maintained a reputation for high build quality This example is believed to be an older restoration, purchased from a collector in Udine, Italy Currently showing just 448km on the odometer No accompanying documentation or UK-registration with this lot.
