Rare, UK made sportscar with recent extensive expenditure to make it roadworthy again. This is one of the very rare examples of the phase of production which had shifted to Northern Ireland by the mid-1980s. This was when Clan changed from being purely a kit car manufacturer to a maker of complete cars. This example is recorded as one of just sixteen manufactured during that period. Unlike earlier Clans, the Clover was fitted with the excellent Alfa Romeo 1.5 litre flat-four, “boxer” motor and five-speed gearbox in a mid-engine layout. Striking in “rosso” red with an interior in pale grey leather piped in red, this Clover was acquired by the current owner at the tail end of 2019. The previous owner had owned the car for 28 years. Since he bought the car, the present owner has spent close to £19k having the car sorted and prepared for the road, the last invoice being in 2024. The car received a thorough overhaul of the engine, gearbox, suspension and braking components including a rebuilt engine with parts acquired from another Alfa engine, prepped for use with E10 fuel. In 2022 a new set of Yokohama 185/60×13 tyres was fitted. The Compomotive alloy wheels complement the look of the car with the bulging wheel arches. We have not re-fitted the detachable rear wing as we think it looks better without it, but it is available with the car. There is a factory fitted sunroof and an external battery cutoff. Number 13 of 16 (some say 20) road cars made and recording just over 13,500 miles. Complete with an in-depth history file including old MOT certificates and paper receipts up to 2018 plus digital spreadsheet invoices as evidence of the work carried out since 2019. Having been stored indoors for almost all of its life, the car is in very good condition. Getting into and out of the car requires a certain degree of flexibility and the pedals are grouped closely together so please be aware of this when considering whether this is the car for you!
