DUCATI 996 - £5,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. The Ducati 996 is one of the most celebrated superbikes of the late 1990s and early 2000s, carrying forward the legacy of the iconic 916. Introduced in 1999, the 996 retained the instantly recognizable Tamburini-designed silhouette - underseat exhausts, single-sided swingarm and razor-sharp lines - while improving on its predecessor’s performance and reliability Powered by a 996cc liquid-cooled, 90° L-twin engine with Desmodromic valve actuation, it produced around 112bhp and delivered the distinctive torque-rich character Ducati twins are known for. The chassis featured a lightweight trellis frame paired with top-shelf suspension and Brembo braking components, making it as adept on the track as it was thrilling on the road The 2000 model represented the peak of the 996 line before the arrival of the 998, offering refined fuel-injection, updated cooling, and improved ergonomics. The model also underpinned Ducati’s dominance in World Superbike racing, where riders like Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss cemented the marque’s reputation for precision and performance Purchased by our vendor in Texas when he was living and working in the US and brought back to the UK, now road-registered here Fitted with new Pirellis when the bike arrived in the UK and only 200 miles since Fitted with a large selection of carbon fibre parts including front mudguard, radiator cover, full carbon fibre fuel tank, inlet tubes, airbox, clutch cover, heel guards and chain guard Supplied with a current V5C, a current MOT Certificate until 14/11/2025 and a copy of its US Title document
