Background:Launched in 2002, the Focus RS marked Ford’s return to the performance hatchback arena, drawing directly from the brand’s rallying heritage. Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) team, the RS featured a 2-litre turbocharged Duratec engine producing 212bhp, delivered through a Quaife automatic torque-biasing differential and a close-ratio 5-speed gearbox. With extensive chassis revisions, uprated brakes and a bespoke body kit, the Focus RS offered exceptional handling and performance for its class, earning instant recognition as a true modern classic.
