Built in limited numbers and instantly recognisable thanks to its aggressive stance and towering rear wing, the Sierra RS Cosworth became a legend the moment it arrived both on the road and the racetrack Built in Ford’s Genk factory in Belgium production started in July 1986 and ended in January 1987 EXTERNAL Finished in factory-correct Ford Diamond White (paint code B3), the bodywork presents in outstanding condition, entirely consistent with the car’s ultra-low mileage and careful ownership. The cabin is finished with the correct Ford Roma Grey Recaro sports seats, which remain in excellent condition front and rear. The front seats retain firm, supportive bolsters that hold you securely in place, while the rear seating is equally well preserved, showing none of the wear typically associated with age. Underfoot, the grey lux pile carpeting remains clean and unworn, complemented by front door cards that present extremely well and retain their original shape and finish. The entire interior remains true to factory specification, with originality clearly prioritised throughout. All controls and switchgear operate exactly as intended, including the original Ford audio system and separate amplifier. The LCD warning display for bulb failure and open doors functions correctly, with all warning elements illuminating and extinguishing as designed. This RS Cosworth is well specified, featuring electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, factory-tinted glass, tailgate wash and wipe, a laminated windscreen, and the extended centre console. The wheels are fitted with the original Dunlop D40 tyres, a highly desirable period detail that further reinforces the car’s exceptional originality and collector-grade status. While the Dunlop D40s remain an important part of the car’s provenance and visual authenticity, it should be noted that, if the vehicle is to be used on public roads, we strongly recommend replacing the tyres with modern-day equivalents for safety and performance reasons. The original tyres should be retained for display and originality purposes. Braking performance is provided by a ventilated front disc and rear disc setup, working in conjunction with the factory-fitted anti-lock braking system (ABS). The system delivers confident and progressive stopping power, offering stability under braking while remaining entirely in keeping with the car’s original engineering specification.
