INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CAMPER TRUCK - £Auction

The International Harvester truck is a classic example of mid-century American workhorse design. Known for its rugged durability, it was favoured by farmers, tradesmen, and small businesses. Featuring a bold, boxy body with a distinctive grille, it balanced practicality with style. Its inline-six engines delivered dependable power, while the sturdy frame made it ideal for heavy hauling. Today, collectors admire its vintage charm, solid craftsmanship, and timeless appeal, making it a treasured piece of truck history.

This 1942 truck must be one of the funkiest Lots ever offered by Historics. This head turning example is finished in Smoke Grey coachwork which features '7 Sisters Petroleum' decals as a nod to the fuel tanker in the iconic 1981 movie 'Mad Max'. When we look further, we discover that this fuel tanker opens to be a camper van featuring seats, beds, sink and hob. The side opens and is fitted with an awning and plenty of storage boxes are fitted to the vehicle. The driver's cab is in good order and we are told that this International will be driven to the auction. This truck was the highlight at a recent motorcycle rally and is even fitted with a 1972 Honda 125cc painted in matching colours. This International is a perfect opportunity to stand out at any show or festival. Consigned by Dominic Lake
