Lotus Elan Additional Information 1969 Elan Series 1V coupe. A truly stunning Lotus Elan. Finished in Lime Green with Black interior. This car has been fully rebuilt by an experienced mechanic over a 4 year period, with documented pictures. The body was removed and sent to Lotus specialist and taken back to gell. Doors have been reprofiled to fit correctly. The engine bay inner wheel arches and underside have been prepared to a very high standard with approximately 300 hrs to prepare and paint the body. Engine was stripped and bored plus 10 with high performance pistons. The crankshaft has been ground with new big ends, mains bearings, jack shaft and cam bearings. Sprint cams and new big valves and caps have been fitted. The head was rebuilt by Head Technique. Twin 40 Webers have been fitted along with a new timing chain and tensioner guides New oil pump, water and fuel pump. S/S braided hoses an Aldon Distributor along with a new clutch pressure plate and thrust bearing. This engine is now producing around 125/130HP The Chassis is a new Galvinised and painted 26R Type. The front wish bones are fully refurbished with fully adjustable shocks absorbers, new trunnions and track rod ends. All the front suspension has been Polybushed. Rear suspension has all new wishbones, Spyder drive shafts, and has again been Polybushed Gearbox and differential are all tight and in good order. As to the Electrical system, 3 x new wiring looms, new indicators and repeater lights, new light bowls and chrome H' Light surrounds, and a new alternator. All gauges have been cleaned and refitted.The rev counter has been rebuilt and is now compatible with Aldon Distributor. Electric window motors stripped and inspected and refurbished. Miscellaneous New Parts. Light vacuum pods. Window rubbers. Aluminium fuel tank with S/S braided fuel lines. Colin Chapmen signed steering wheel. New S/S braided brake hoses and clutch pipes, vacuum hoses throughout. New wheel spinners, New Minilite Wheels New rubber seals throughout. New Carpets and underlay. Brake and clutch master cylinders have been rebuilt. Steering column rebushed. Dashboard re veneered, New battery with new cables, interior lights, air horns. Bespoke S/S polished exhaust and mountings Kenlow fan with adjustable thermostat and lots more. The vehicle has done 10 miles since all this work was carried out. In all, this car is as new and at £45995 it’s a fraction of the cost of what it would be today new!
