1967 MG BGT MK1 - £8,750

MG BGT MK1 Series 1, Damask (Dark Red) with 'Buff' leather and vinyl upholstery and matching carpets, with rubber over mats. Engine: 'Ivor Searl' standard 1798cc, with unleaded head, tubular exhaust manifold. Recently fitted 'Accuspark' electronic ignition (Lucas 45d pattern) (Rev counter adjusted), Standard SU carbs with 'K&N' filters. Kenlowe electric fan. Oil cooler replaced in 2021. Stainless steel exhaust. Electrical system: Converted to negative earth. Alternator. 'Edge' high torque, light weight, starter motor. Single 12 volt battery. (Just replaced). Quartz Halogen headlights. Heated rear window (not working) ' Retrosound' period looking radio, with 'USB' and 'SD' card inputs.'Retronics' windscreen wiper timer, fitted Transmission and suspension; 'Parabolic' rear springs with adjustable 'GAZ' shock absorbers fitted all round. 'High Gear' Ford type 9, five speed gearbox, with new clutch last year. 15" MWS 70 spoke chrome wire wheels. (Speedo adjusted to read correctly with higher gearing) Original 'Banjo' steering wheel. Much work done on body, it has the original alloy bonnet, (much lighter than steel) and 'Webasto' sunroof fitted' in 2018. No leaks. New windscreen wiper spindles and refurbished rack fitted 2024. Uprated Heater (larger matrix). Very warm in Winter. Paint on bonnet a bit dull, the usual rust spots here and there, but the car is used regularly, so this is inevitable, however it has been rustproofed at some time, and regularly topped up by me. Regularly serviced with Millers 20/60 oil and VSP E additive. Always run on Shell V power, E5 (lower ethanol). Road tax and MoT free but I do have it professionally checked every year, most recently this March. Large history file. I have owned the car since October 2017. The larger wheels and 5 speed box make this a delightful long distance cruiser which we have used for many long trips in the UK
